Tano was the generic nickname given to Italian immigrants. It originated in the fact that most of the immigration was from southern Italy, and the ships departed from the port of Naples. Upon arrival in the country, they were considered simply Neapolitans, or Tanos.
Destemming without grinding. Fermentation in open bins, microvinified. Soft punch downs , infused. Post-fermentative maceration of at least one week. Full malo lactic fermentation. Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, 50% new and 50% second use.
Malbec and Cab Franc comes from Gualtallary, while the Sangiovese from La Arboleda, all within Uco Valley.
